Many thanks to all our new little acrobats from ages 1 up to 14 years.
so far our classes have introduced the children to aerial hoop, aerial straps and aerial hammock.
Within our classes I have taught the basic fundamental skills such as learning to jump, roll, splits and be upside down without fear.
It has filled me full of joy to see every child have fun and improve.
All of our Acrosphere classes will continue to use a variety of fun different set ups to challenge the children and keep them interested.
Our little Pre schooler mini acrobats have learned to follow instructions with fun warm ups using sensory props to keep their imagination flowing whilst developing ability to walk on their hands and straighten their legs with pointed toes. Our beginners have amazed me with how quickly they have adapted to spinning upside down and are now improving their knowledge with how to work their strength as well as flexibility to show beautiful shapes. They continue to learn handstand holds and progressions for forward roll technique that eventually leads to front somersaults. They also learn how to go backwards on the big roller or with support for slow motion backflip practice. Along with these skills they need to master the dish and arch shape holds on the floor to improve their strength required for all skills and aerial. Once they understand all shapes and can hold them for 10 seconds or more the aerial and acrobatics become a lot easier.
Next our intermediate/advanced class have been learning some ambitious drops on the hammock with impressive bravery. They continue to show great enthusiasm for the new possibilities shown to them. Acrosphere aims to show each child their own set of strengths wether it’s contortion or duo hoop to hand balancing, the aim is to open their eyes to a fresh look on ‘gymnastics’ and keep their happiness and fitness at a high level.
Our classes break the barrier between sport and performing arts. We continue to develop our unique classes with top level coaches that are currently top performers In the circus industry.
The most exciting part is that we have only just begun….
